Cabarrus Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization that relies on income from special events to operate our program. Upcoming events are listed below.
![]() March for Meals March is designated as National Meals on Wheels Month. Show your support by volunteering to deliver meals, donating to our March for Meals campaign, or by encouraging a senior to try our program. Our agency depends on the help we receive from our community. Without you we would not be able to meet our mission of ending senior hunger in Cabarrus County. ![]() "Mayors and More for Meals" On March 19 Mayors from around the country will join together to bring attention to senior hunger. This year we will have other community leaders joining our town mayors to deliver meals to our senior neighbors. Participating members: (as of January 24) Mayor Scott Padgett of Concord Mayor John Crump of Midland Mayor Troy Barnhardt of Mount Pleasant Jay White, Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners Grace Mynatt, Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners Joni Juba, Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners Representative Linda Johnson, NC House of Representatives Caring Cabarrus Clergy for Meals Another new component of our March for Meals campaign. Cabarrus area Clergy have been invited to deliver meals to our clients during the month of March. If you know of any clergy who would like to deliver during March for us, please contact lchurch@ctc.net. We are looking forward to great partnerships with our local faith community! Each year we provide an emergency hunger relief package for our clients. We would like to give all clients an emergency food bag but we need your help to do so. The number of bags we distribute is dependent on the amount of canned food items we receive. These packages are filled with non-perishable food items to be used in the event of an emergency such as inclement weather or any other emergency situation that would prevent the delivery of hot meals by CMOW. The can foods are donated by civic organizations, churches, schools, and individuals. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed food to this project. Local girl scouts come and pack over 100 bags in early November.
Any organization or individual that would be interested in donating food items please contact Lisa Church at lchurch@ctc.net |
